Default Help please-1996 boost gauge fitting

Hi all

excuse my ignorance but i have searched other threads but cannot find where to connect my boost gauge

does anyone have a picture please

connect into the DV vaccum line with a T piece.

might have a picture somewhere.. will check

Cannot find a picture of any use..

If you look at the middle of the inlet manifold, big silver metal thing on top of the engine (talking in as simple terms as possible).
There are three small diameter pipes coming off.. one goes to the MAP sensor via the Pressure Exchange Solenoid, one goes to the fuel pressure red and one goes to the dump valve.. I believe on the standard set up the larger one is the dump valve connection..
you can use any of the three but I would recommend the dumpvalve connection to T into as if you effect the other two in anyway you will cause bigger problems than if you cause a fluctuation or leak on the dumpvalve line.

Dump valve is the small black cylindercal item pictures to the right in this picture with a red sticker.

well you can use one of the other pipes I just personnal prefer the dump valve connection.

Thats great

Will have a go tomorrow now because its gone too dark plus ive got to do the wiring for it yet.

Decided have a go today and noticed on the middle of the 3 tubes there is one which has bee cut before.

So connected my boost gauge to that and started the car up and it dropped to less that 0.5 bar and then when revved it went to 1 bar is this right please

there are a few places to run this from some a bit more acurate then others but sound fine to me

should be around -0.6bar on hot idle and probably reach about 0 revving on the drive but should show what boost you are running when driving etc..

scooby dance - cool thats saves cutting into another tube.

simon - i havnt drove with it on yet i shall connect it back up and have a drive.
