Default Braided Brake Hoses

I recently found out that my Type-R has some Goodridge ones on it. Whats the benefit, if any, of these?

you will have a firmer pedal than with rubber hoses as they flex and expand when the pedal is pushed hard, as the rubber hoses get older they will deteriorate and this flexing and expansion will be more pronounced, thus giving you a spongy pedal feel.
with braided hoses this doesn't happen as the stainless steel braid keeps it all in check (they are plastic inside as well i think?)
