i have just bought a subaru impreza 2.0 turbo 1995 the reverse lights dont work someone has fitted a greedy turbo timer and cut the wires on central door locking i can't find wires to reconect if anyone has any idead please and also done diagnostics test and mass air flow sensor not working properly could it be anything to do with huge cone filter which was already fitted

 

cone filter can affect the maf (mass air flow) but usually if it is not secure so it moves about in the engine bay. People will tell you on here that the mafs are very unreliable but it is usually only the 99 models that suffer badly.

For the reverse lights, daft question but i assume you have checked the bulbs? Think there is a switch on the gearbox and when you put it into reverse this engages and allows the lights to come on, not 100% sure on this, never had to check.
