My turbo went recently was wondering if anybody knows what the standard turbo is provided on these cars, want the same as a minimum.

my old turbo , believed to be standard started to come on boost @ 3000 rpm
peak @ 1.3 kg/cm2 and maintained all the way to 8000 rpm excellent boost i think all standard?

i would love to try and get near 400bhp in next session of rebuilding but dont want a big laggi turbo anybody got any recomendations or experience with type rs and upgrading turbos ?

The standard turbo on a version 5 type r is a vf28

not sure on how much bhp my turbo will max out at but its a v5 STi with a VF24 turbo

any ideas what a turbo wouild be good for 370-400 but pick up boost early

If you want 370ish with good spool you'd be hard pushed to beat a Td05/18g as long as you have the right supporting mods, 20g may make 400 with fuel additives and again well chosen supporting mods, or a Garret/IHI hybrid that will fit in the std location.
