Question how to fit uprated fuel pump?

I hear those walboro 255L/PH fuel pumps are the good stuff if you're looking to start tinkering with ecutek remap and so on..... so sounds silly really but is it just an underbody external item to unbolt and unplug as per my old RS turbo or have those efficent japanese engineers hidden it in the fuel tank or elsewhere?
If it is internal is it a specialist garage job?

Cheers

its in the fuel tank, its an easy job - very basicly rip out the back seats undo and remove the cover, undo and remove the petrol pump/sender unit assembley from the petrol tank, change the pump over, put back in (use the original filter "sock" as its apperently better. I did mine took **** all time and was easy

Lots of thread with loads of details on here, scoobymods, etc. Do a few searches.

Cheers

Can be done without removing the rear seat (but does make life easier).
Take the cover off (4 phillips screws) and unplug the electrical connector underneath.
Run the car until it stalls.
Remove the filler cap (a lot of people miss this)
remove the 3 hoses from the lid
undo the 8mm nuts
as you withdraw the pump assembly you will need to twist it 90deg.
use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the old washer clip that holds the sock on
i find the easiest way to press on the new clip is with a 5mm socket

be careful not to bend the fuel gauge sender bar when refitting as this will put your fuel gauge out.

Question

am i right in thinking that the 255 litres per hour walboro pump is the the best choice for an uprated fuel pump.
or are there any better or more popular choices that people use.
