It detect knock (det) in the engine and display the information using a series of LED's

It's mounted on the left hand side of the instrument binnacle.

On a std UK car i wouldn't worry but if you are getting a new ECU or having the std one Ecutek'd then i would fit one just to keep an eye on things.

You'll be amazed at how much crap batch fuel can cause the car to det.

No you dont need one for re-mapping or setting up on a rolling road,If your running a standard car then there not really needed if your going to mod then i would say be safe and get one,They dont adjust anything at all.Its simply to warn the driver that the engine is detting which isnt good

Det = detonation In laymans term which is all i know it means the fuel is igniting before the plug has sparked and before the piston has hit the top of its cycle.i.e. the fuel ignites while the piston is travelling upwards when the fuel ignites it wants to push the piston down so they fight each other resulting in a holed piston.

I think thats right someone wil corect me if im wrong?

260-270 not a problem a 99/2000 car

mods required are

A de-cat exhaust
A replacement panel filter (k&n/green)
An ecutek re-map

With those three mods my 2000 car was running 274bhp.If you want much more then the td04 turbo needs replacing.

You dont need to change the up-pipe on a 99/2000 car.

You need a turbo back system which is a down-pipe from turbo which takes out the front cat,A centre link pipe which takes out the smaller second cat and a back box.

So three parts in all,From my own experience theres no point doing headers(manifold) with the standard turbo. On my car it made it spool up some 1000rpm later which was really sh*t.
