Hi mate. I have just bought a full after burner system 2nd hand. I must admit when looked on the web site mine seemed to look a bit different, and i initially was paranoid that the hangers looked starnge. It's an angled back box too. It's at someone's house athe moment so i won't know how he got on with it until he's done - and **** knows when that will be because he's had it there for the gear box for 5 weeks! Keep you posted. Btw have you looked on the web site for comparison?

I had exactly the same problem with my afterburner back box. I was told that some imports had different length pipework on after market exhausts (ie not original length) so would have problems mating it up.
Does yours have an after market exhaust you are replacing?
I ended up sending it off to Hayward & Scott (who make them), for alterations(for extra cost!) After i had taken the old one off and measured it all!
A right pain in the ****!
But, its on now and it looks and sounds great!

yeh the back box i've taken off is a HKS super drager, to be honest it came with the car (import) so don't know if it was just the back box the last owner change or the mid section as well.

Is this where difference in size could be comming from?

Yup, the super dragger is a cat-back system (mid-section + back-box). You have 2 choices, 1) bite the bullet and buy a centre section from scoobyworld or hayward and scott, or 2) send back box and centre, or just drive to H&S in essex and have them make the alterations for you. no 1. would definatley be the cheaper option.
Think scooby world do the centre section for around 100 pounds.
Easy to fit aswell!

I'm pretty sure you can order a magnex center section from Halfords for about £65. The part number is XCRPSS02P (this is the non-resonated pipe) - Should solve your problem.

Hi Alan

The Afterburner is designed to be a direct replacement for the standard Impreza back box. As such it should join perfectly to the original Subaru centre section and uses the original Subaru exhaust hangers.

If you're still having problems, please give us a call tomorrow and we'll do what we can to get to the bottom of it

regards

Neil
