Default ECU swap?

Currently got a GEMS ecu in my MY2000 classic. Thinking of selling the car, but the GEMS seems to add no value at all as most people don't understand what it is.

Been told they are worth a bit S/H so I thought about putting my standard one back in.

What are the implications, is it an easy swap? There are also the console switches that go back to the ecu for switchable fuel map and anti lag which will need disconnecting, and something about an air bypass valve?

Bearing in mind I am an electrical numpty, any help would be appreciated.

Cheers, Daz

Thumbs up ECU

Hi m8
the removal of the ecu is normal very easy.

Make sure you discontect the battery. Lift the ECU out (a couple of screws) and it should be 2 conectors which is a press down and pull on the plastic not wires.
The standard impreza ECU should reset its self and perform as normal.
Check the male and females to compare.

I may be intrested in the GEMS as I am currently looking at a APEXI FC. Send me a PM if your intrested in sell.

Default

I will be selling it at some point. Just need to be confident taking it out that the car will still run.

Cheers, Daz
