Default Poor start after engine rebuild! :(

Just finished off rebuilding the engine tonight, decided to see if it would start. It runs after a lot of cranking, and then runs poorly, not too sure if its firing on all four, noticed the boost gauge going crazy too, so the vacuum is all over the place. Couldnt really play about with much as it was bloody dark and couldnt see anything, but will have a play round tomoz.

Anyone rebuilt theirs and had similar probs or got any suggestions on things to check?

Think i may have figured it out, i'm pretty certain the timing and wiring is all correct, the only thing i'm not sure is correct is the fuel lines, think i may have them back to front.

Let me know if you need any pics, I took my engine out (95 WRX), did head gaskets and photographed many stages so I got everything back where it came from, fuel lines were one of them!

Cheers fella, took pics most the way too but forgot to take one before i touched anything.

I've found some engine bay pics already though, and thats why i think i've sussed it. Will post tomorrow though if the problems continue.

How do you mean back to front.

Some people actually swap the lines over so that cylinder number 3 is fed first and 4 last.

All sorted, it ended up being the timing. I'd put the inlet cam on the left bank 180 degrees out. Doh! Its good to have it back at last
