Default oil temperature sensor

Where's the best place to fit the oil temp sensor?

in the block above no.3
or
in the sump plug

is there pros/cons of either?

cheers
Mark.

above no.3 is the best as it will show u the internal oil temp as aposed to the temp of the oil in the sump witch will rise after!!!!!!!

or the easy way is to take it from the oil filter by fitting a spacer between the engine block and the oil filter. disadvantage is the oil filter is about 20mm to the floor but i fitted one and aint had any probs and my car is lowered 40mm ish.
