fmic
hi there,
sorry for another fmic thread...
I have a 98 gt with a BMC air intake, dawes device set to 1,2 bar and supersprint turbo back exhaust ( up pipe soon ).
I was thinking in a fmic, will I have any gains?
a remap it's not in my plans for now, because all my scooby m8s say here in portugal only a few people can do a trusty remap ( I'm being kind )...
2 of them had their remaps done by a foreigner who went to Portugal just to do that...

An FMIC will not add power as such but it will make your engine safer in that the charge temperatures will be lower. Your engine will be capable of making more power because of the reduction in charge temperature. With the high induction temperatures you have at present from the TMIC det is more likely.
Having said that, because of the mods you have made already you may well be running to the limit of your map and because of the existing mods it would not be in your interests to add an FMIC without the facility to have a remap.
I know that my friend Paulo from the Porto area wants a remap soon and if several of you guys got together to spread the travelling costs for the mapper that would be a good idea.

Cost of remap? Ask the guy that is going to do the remap.
Far better to map the car with the FMIC on, otherwise to get best and safest set up you need two remaps.
The map is in the ECU so unless you change the ECU you will not loose it.
