Default Turbo upgrade Installation - Direct swapout?

Looking to upgrade the turbo this week / next week. Currently VF28. What other *mods are required if any when choosing a bigger blower?

i.e. If I go down the TD05-20G is there anything I need to do to the oil feed lines etc or is it a direct bolt on job. Need to know before I order / fit / get Apexi mapped soon..

Probably going for the TD05 20G but would other models of turbos be a direct fit? What turbos are a *known b**tard to fit?

Thanks for responses on this in advance

Should bolt straight on, i recently changed from a td04 to a vf30, no probs at all except a slight difference in angle on the cooloant pipes. Nothing a bit of friendly persuasion and a pair of pliers didnt sort out.

What gain did you get from swapping to the VF30?

Dont know yet, replaced the turbo because i thought the oil seals had gone in it and was chucking loads of smoke out of the exhaust, it cured a bit of the smoke but later found i'd also melted a piston, so its been of the road for a while. Should have it finished this weekend, then i'll have to run it in, and then i can see what the new turbo is like

The wait's killing me!

I went from a TD04 to a VF30.

Although i had several other mods..it got me to 320bhp/290ft/lb on an MY98.

Little bit more lag than the TD04, but was nice and strong at the top end.

Think you`ll be ok with it.
