don't know about that particular setup but my standard TD05 is running fine without one would of thought it would take the strain if you keep the boost sensible

You can run without, however, you will probably find it drives much nicer with a recirc dumpvalve, preferably one that opens relatively easily. The 20g can have surge problems, which will tend to rear there head on when lightly coming off the throttle. Give it a try without and see how you go. If you get lift off jerkiness, then something like a Forge recirc with the weakest spring (which is still quite stiff) may be the ticket. The 99/00 and beyond standard valves work quite nicely too, just the 97/98 plastic ones that can be a problem (they often split with high boost).

Question

Sorry to raise up these questions again about running without a dump valve.

BUT> Lets say I now go out to my car and take off the dump valve. Then what? Apart from blocking the vacuum hose off, is there anything else I should do?? I have a MY00 btw. Do I need to block off the whole in the intercooler where the DV came from or just leave it as is??

Thanks,

Chad.

should be fine as long as you block off the hole in the intercooler, i drove mine around for nearly a month without any dump valve fitted

What did you use to block off the hole?

Also, one last thing. If the valve aint there to let the pressure out, where does it go?

Backwards through the turbo.

Well yeah that's what I thought. Is that safe??? Anyone done this and had a turbo failure?
