Default Which welder?

For my new project I'm going to be doing a lot of welding. I haven't ever welded before but by the time my project is done, I'll be an expert

Can anyone give advice on what to look for in a mig welder? It'll mainly be used for body repairs. What sort of power do I need, without going nuts?

For the same power, the cheaper they are, the crappier they are. Get the most expensive you can afford; or get a secondhand "Autolynx" or similar. Get one that can use full size bottles.
