Default Power FC standard Injector size...380 or 440?

Can anyone tell me if the PFC is mapped for 380s or 440s out of the box please?

Its a V3 Sti (1997) PFC.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

mapped for 440s with a totally different MAF sensor, so you will definitely need a full remap before running the PFC. Not to mention swapping pins around for the cam anc crank sensors, and the fuel pump relay.

mmmmmm......strange. Runs good on the standard map. Overfueling but still runs ok. Didnt need to swap any wires around.

Totally different MAF? Does this affect the airflow % then?

You don't say what car you have fitted it to. To the best of my knowledge if your car is a JDM model the wiring is plug and play. You will have to check the injectors yourself if it is a WRX as the MY97 & 98's didn't all come with 440's (yellow, 380's = grey).

To me that reads as though you have an Apexi Power FC for an STi Version 3. Not that your car is an STi Version 3.

If your car is the same as the ECU is designed for then there is no problem...? 440's in STi Ver. 3 and they should have been yellow when you removed them.

I've just calculated 59.5% for 740's anyway. Maybe best to email Paul (Zen ^), Andy Forrest or Simon Roe who've actually mapped cars with that injector/ECU combo to check.

JDM wiring doesn't need altering.

The standard map will be too far advanced if you get the fuelling close on 440s then it will run.. but det on 98ron.. I have found even 98ron + octane booster the advance is still very close to det, even at only moderate boost, although not often I get to map a standard car etc..

You can get the fueling close by changing the injector setting to compensate for the 740s but the spray pattern will be different and the fueling throughout the injection table different to that required by the 740s.. ie you need to map it with a wideband.
You may find 59% is good on paper but no where near when you map the car.

So is it the same situation for the MAF scaling? Do you use the same MAF scalings for cars that has 70mm MAF tube or do you always change it till you get the right AFRs for different cars?
