Default Link ECU Removal from a MY99 STi...

About to move to another management system... I have the original ECU for the car & wish to swap over. I'm assuming this will be straight forward.. any pointers? i.e. Senders *borrowed or the like. The MAF also looks connected at the moment.. have not tried removing whilst the car is running so unable to confirm if it is indeed being used by the Link.

Any help on this greatly appreicated.

The link ecu by-passes the maf sensor and if its been left in instead of being blanked off there is a good chance it will have had it.

I took mine out of one of my old cars a long time ago and its pretty staight forward.

Sure, the car still runs with it removed.. I take it simply swapping the EC to a stock ECU is just that - with no other considerations.. the MAF will be picked up & run?

This is simply an interim measure to run the car off boost untill I get the Apexi mapped.

Started first time and good idle. Did not rev past 3k and lots of fuel smells... decided not to even attempt to take out for a drive re the lambda getting damaged. Picking up new MAF tonight.. just need a s0dding Security Torx.. T20 according to posts here... where the heck can I get one of those?!
