Default MY 95 WRX WAGON what boost / power ?

Hi

A mate has just bought a MY95 (regged 96) JDM wrx wagon.

It's had some money spent on it at power engineering in the past and has been fitted with a power engineering exhaust with de-cat, an induction kit, and blow off valve.

The car is currently running 1 bar of boost, and he has removed the ecu to see if it has been chipped and there is no signs of a chip ever being fitted.

He is wondering what boost it should be running as standard and is wondering if 1.0bar is safe to run, there is no sign of a bleed valve anywhere either.

It still has the std intercooler fitted aswell.

Any help on this would be great.

P.S is a MY95 ecu remappable ???

Thanks in advance.

Have a lok at the case on the ecu - it should say 3B or V9

These ecus run thi sboost standard.

WRX Wagon ECU 3B, V9 - 10.55psi dropping to 6.84psi (starts to drop @ 5000rpm). Fuel-Cut 13.79psi

1 bar is 14.5 psi so that is well over standard and it shoul dbe hitting the fuel cut if the ecu is standard. It could be a latter ecu and it is spking a bit so its reaching 1 bar, but i suspect there must be a bleed valve and fuel cut lift fitted to the car somewhere.

Well there is no sign of the ecu being played with, and after a good look about under the bonnet there is no sign of a bleed valve anywhere.

Also the car spikes at 1.2bar and holds 1bar.

Would the standard actuator allow you to windup this much boost ???

Hello im the guy with the wagon it is very weird as the car has no signs of having the boost turned up ie boost controller ,bleed valve etc etc but yet it runs more than standrd boost and i dont know if it is getting the fuel to run it , im pretty worried about this as ive only had the car 4 days
