Question Starting times

How long on average does your scoob take to start when you turn the key?

Mines about 2-3 seconds with the key turned in the ignition generally before if fires up, is this about right?

A couple of seconds should be about right, mines about three or four compresions which is 1 - 2 seconds.

The first sign that your spark plugs are neading changed will be that it could take slightly longer to start.

do you turn the key straight to start, or to run, then wait, then start? mine takes two compressions normally. If it takes longer or stutters when starting it could be a failing fuel pump or pres reg.

Does it make any difference that the car's been stood for 3 months and only started once a week really for about 10 minutes a time?
