Default wr1 poor performance

Seems to be very sluggish just lately....run the car on optimax all the time. really cheesed off a peugeot 307 136bhp dt pulled away from me tonight so i know theres a problem

The car runs a forge dv and the only other thing i had done recently was a new stereo install...which takes power direct from the battery.....(maybe taking to much power???maybe)

Any Ideas

p.s. i bounced the car of the rev limited a few weeks again when i missed a gear.

many thanks

Phil

Have you got a boost gauge fitted? Would be interested to know if your pulling around 1.4 bar under hard acceleration. Does it cough and splutter or hesitate at all?

I doubt your radio will pull more power than the air con does, although it has to be said, the air con does kill performance.

If you fill up at the same petrol station, perhaps they had a bad batch of fuel, or put diesel in the Optimax tank!

On a more serious note - would take it to your dealer and play safe.

i think u need to do a ecu check
sounds like your in limp mode
ps it aint your stereo, and a rev limiter is there to protect your engine, hitting it wont cause a problem.
unless u wer doing 100mph and put her in to second
that would cause some damage

If your DV is VTA bin that for starters, although it's probably not related..

Put the original (proper) dump valve back on to start with, the only reason I see to change a perfectly good dv is to get the noise - assuming it's a VTA?
As has been said, check the boost value - my sons STi with PPP was pushing only 0.85 bar, turned out to be a blocked bleed to the actuator.
