Default broken cam belt, what will be damaged.

purchased a 99 2000 UK turbo car thats been in a bump and the chassis leg has taken out 1 cam pulley, anyone know how many bits tend to become bent when the cam belts snap. Just wondering if its worth even opening it up. thanks for any info.

After any info about what normally happens with these engines when cam belt snaps. cheers

The least amount of damage would be just the broken pulley but realistically your looking at least half of the valves being bent.

Generally you should always remove the heads and inspect every single valve.

Even a slightly bent valve may seem ok, but it won't seat right and may eventually fatigue and could break off....a dropped valve usually completely wrecks the engine, so that's why they should always be checked after a cambelt failure
