Default ABS light came on when accelerating hard?????

Hi

Was showing my mate what my classic sti can do in a straight line and once going at quite a pace the abs light came on.

Now, the right hand side brakes do squeek a little bit when rolling which is being looked at this weekend hopefully (If I can get it in).

When I parked up, I switched her off and started her straight away and it didn;t come back on.

Drove another 60 miles and no re-occurence. Only other thing to note was that it was raining quite hard this evening.....

Any ideas before it goes in to be looked at?

Cheers

If you span one wheel when you accelerated hard or aquaplaned one wheel, then that would cause the ABS light to come on.

Hi, I had mine do that once on a wet road, (testing new clutch)
From 5k rpm dropped the clutch, and it felt like all four wheels spun for a few seconds, car took off, ABS light on????, cam on again next morning.
Went out straight away when i reversed out of drive?.
Been ok ever since.

Don't scoobs have some sort of traction control,(related to the ABS circuit) when 1 wheel spins, the abs pump thing applies the brake as opposed to releasing it, to control spin??

Can any one clarify if thats correct??? if so how it works exactly.
Cheers

The car was well into it's stride by the time it came on though but the road was quite uneven and damp so could have skipped across a pool of water etc etc
