Default Difference between classic Sti's?

What's the difference between the different classic STi's? Be it cosmetic or mechanical?

I've got and sti 5 but am always looking for more info if you've got some!

Cheers

is a missive question.

phase 2s were all open deck, earlier cars stis and non could be closed deck.

phase 2 cars have a different ecu which is ecutekable.

versions 3s onwards had 440 injectors, version 1 and 2 had 380cc injectors.

The heads changed, both in cam profile and also in shim containment.

Early cars apparently had hydraulic lifters although I have been told since that this isn't true.

Version 3 and 4 had underbucket shims and version 5 and 6 had over bucket shims.

gear ratios changes, suspensions changed way too big a question to just answer outright.

thought it may be in fairness....

Would the question - What's the difference between a 98 wrx and a 98 wrx sti V5 be easily answerable?
