Question Car still misfiring

Original post:

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...&highlight=maf

Now the car pulls like it did before and at 3k it realy comes alive.

The problem now though is if i go round a corner in second gear slowly the car will mis until it gets over 2k. Is this because of the low revs? Or the 7 rated plugs??

It did however mis at about 4-5k the other day too. But hasnt since.

I also made a post about the car hesitating off boost recently too. Apparently this is common? Annoying all the same!

I added octane booster on my last fill up too and thats not made any differance. To be honest im not sure what i expected it to do! I thought it may run smoother but obviously not!

The car is definatly not running like it was.

Approx £250 spent so far!

I went from 6's to 7's. The initial misfire problem was with the 6's. MAF changed and problem gone. Then car developed a hesitation.

The problem is now so inconsistant i dont even know when its going to mis. I can be going full throttle without any problems then the car will misfire without any rev pattern.

As for it misfiring in 2nd at 1-1.5k going round corners Im totally baffled.

Is it worth replacing the Lambda sensor?

Unplug the Lambda sensor on its connector to see if this improves things. Or ideally get an AFR meter on there. If ti improves when unplugged the sensor is knacked.

Try regapping the plugs to 0.6mm on the 7's to see if this cures the misfire.

What fuel pump do you have fitted, how many miles has it covered?

There is a possibilty the fuel pump is on its way out giving inconsistant fuel pressure - do you have an AFR gauge?

Changed the leads for a brand new set and the car is now fine.
