Default TEK3 Remap licence?

If I bought a ECU which had already had a TEK3 map let's say by Mr Smith and I fitted it to my car and took it to Mr Jones for a remap, what sort of costs would I be looking at? Hopefully a lot cheaper than the initial £600-£700?

Thanks

Depends what you have done. If the license is already on the ecu then you should be just paying for the mappers time.

Having said that. Its probably worth checking if the license applies to the ecu itself or to the car registration it was originally mapped with.

Bob Rawle will charge £400 odd IIRC, I had mine remapped by him recently, after having problems contacting the original mapper (and doubting his map on my car). They charge for a full remap, as they cannot alter what is already on the ECU - it has to be done from scratch - once they have done the map, a further remap from them is £100 (depending on complexity)

Depends if you go back to the original mapper or not, it's usually just a T&M bill if they already have the original/last maps on record...more if they have to start from scratch.

Licence is on the ECU

You can have the original map adjusted as long as it hasnt been locked. If it has, you have to start all over. Its always a good idea to ask your mapper to make you a backup copy of your file so you can save it.
