hmm up to 1.2 bar .. ok then.. oil cooler?? oh no almost dead broke from all my current mods hehe.. alrite guys thanx a bunch .. cuz the thing is i changed my stock downpipe to a 3" downpipe ... removed the cat converter.. changing my 3" greddy / TRUST exhaust system to a NO bullet 3 " all the way straight flow blitz Nur Spec R one together with the EVC hehe i was told there would be a boost spike or creep.. so that y i went out of my budget to get a boost controller... so i was thinking while i was at it might as well get a good one which was the hks EVC 5.. need to awaken the BOXER within my car hehe

With a Dawes....I think on wrx is safe to boost until 1.15 1.20, and sti 1.3 1.35 (from "historical data") without remaps. Heat is your big enemy when pumping up pressure. (so the recomendation of an oil cooler that subaru shamely lacks, proper cooling procedures after a full boost run because turbo WILL BE HOTTER, frequently oil changes, good oil like motul, etcetcetc)
And do remember that stock ecu compensate for the extra pressure, and AFR is always on 11.1 at WOT (1.20 Dawes - 0.95 stock) . It doesnt run leaner, thats a myth. But this is only true for 10% 20% more boost, if u get greedy u better feel lucky
A proper remap is a must if u plan to go further on the boost road!

not sure if agree with the recommmendation of an oil cooler. Cant see a lightly modded 2.0 producing high enough temps to warrant it. Also oil coolers have their downsides.
IMO, save your money with a fancy boost controller and fit a cheap and effective dawes device. Put the money from the fancy boost controller towards a re-map, which can be had for very reasonable money nowadays.
