Question WHICH ECU FOR TYPE-R

I'm looking for advice on which ECU replacement to fit to a Jap Import.

I'm looking for value for money and I gather the ECU would need mapping.

The ECU would be for a 1998 WRX Type R V-Limited with 300bhp standard with no diff control.
I have just had the engine rebuilt with;
STI9 Crank and bearings, Eagle conrods, JE Pistons.
Gearbox bearings & Rear diff bearings replaced on strip down a Cusco LSD was found to be fitted.

When on the 4x4 road test the set up indicated that the 4x4 drive is set up for drifting.

Anyway advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you have a Type-R as I though all Type-R's came with DCCD, unless the gearbox has been changed.

Value for money you can't beat the Apexi PFC with commander. Do a search on here and you will find lots of usual information on them.

Cool

Hi,

You must have one of the Non STI 2 door models then (WRX type R)probably got ABS too. I looked at one of these before buying my UK turbo, very nice cars.

I have a Gems 97/98 Ecu board for sale at the moment, I think it should fit your car. But would need mapping to suit, Mail me if interested.
