Default Removing engine from classic

I've nearly got the engine out on my classic but unsure on what to do with the gearbox. Can you leave it in place with all driveshafts etc still connected and just pull the engine forward then up of the gearbox, or do you have to remove prop and driveshafts and drop gearbox before taking engine out?

the gearbox can stay in situ without disconnecting anything apart from the clutch fork.the engine should then lift forward then up

leave box in place, you need to lift engine up first, then pull it off the box

Make sure you remove the pin which holds the clutch release fork in place.
10mm Hex plug behind starter motor will givr you access to this. Then use a six mm bolt to extract the pin.

Its a stumbling block where many get stuck. Hope that helps.
