Default Running Car In

Finally i have my car back

Ive just had a whole new bottom end on the car and have been told to run it in for a 1000 miles and to keep it under 3500 rpm.

Its a 95 WRX import. Do you think i could get away with using 95 RON fuel while pootling along and running it in? Dont fancy wasting all my octane booster if its not needed.

Any thoughts welcome

Cool

what sort of mods are you running? Really you should be running it on optimax or bp ultimate any way, they are both 97 ron. Don't put 95 in! Import cars were designed to run on jap fuel which is about 99 ron! 97 you can get away with. 95 can cause the engine to det as 2 of my mates found out! pay the extra and put optimax in its only 6p a litre different!

Cheers

JDM Scoobs are designed to run 100 ron fuel, anything less and your pushing your luck really!
Use optimax/super unleaded AND your octane booster, there is still that chance even when running in, you can get det because of a bad tank of fuel
