Hi guys i'm looking for a new turbo for my p1 its running pretty standard bar an induction kit and uprated bov. i'm not looking for doing major mods, maybe a remap and a full stainless decat in the future. I would like something abit better than the standard vf28 turbo but only if it will fit directly in its place? Not got major bucks!!!

vf28 is a very good turbo unless you want to significantly increase the max power. If you do that, you'll need to replace your fuel pump and pressure regulator.

hi there just spoke to the wizards at api they concur thanks very much. p.s what sort of bhp is the vf28 capable of taking? i.e will it take the power increase of a re-map and a d-cat stainless exhaust system?

I think you can push 300bhp safely... a remap will increase the torque throughout the rev range so your car will actually be much quicker despite having a similar max power.

VF28 will go to 330bhp with fuel pump, reg, decat, filter and a remap, Im also putting on a V8 Intercooler to be safe.

You can squeeze a bit more than that actually, I know of two cars on VF28 giving 350 - ish confirmed on 2 different sets of rollers. Running similar spec to that which PJ above advises

I did a 320 on my vf28, only mod was a decat and some booster as it's an import.
