Default Stainless Steel 'Headers' ...

Seen a few on ebay recently.. UK £300-£400 - *Similar on US Ebay @ £100-£200.

Not considered fitting before but affordable if they produce the goods. I would like to retain the burble so not wanting the equal length jobs.

Would be a big job to heat wrap & fit if the welds & quality was dubious..

What do you guys think - good power gains / sound improvements to be had?

Lastly.. they appear to only fit 02-03 WRX in the US & in the UK auctions .. 92-95 & 95- 05 I assume this is the case ?! Confused - need clarity...
Example pics below...

The US did not have any factory turbocharged Impreza's until 2002, so hence the reference.

I can't see why they wouldn't fit.... tell you what, buy a set, try to fit them, if they don't, then sell them to the owner of a newer car..... you might even turn a profit!!

True

Just wondering if a *cheap setup would be more hassle than its worth.. i.e bad welds or badly fitting.. hmm..

I just fitted a set of Megans to my MY95 in preparation for a remap on Saturday & so far i'm well impressed. The turbo does take a little longer to spool (hopefully the map will fix this slightly) and the engine note does change (still a flat 4 noise) to a little higher note but the mid-range power has just shot up. There's a few hills on my drive home from work that I used to have to drop to 4th for but now I can stay in 5th and it pulls a lot harder. I've noticed a definate increase in performance. So much so that i'd say it's at least another 20BHP before the map but it's the torque that seems to have shown the biggest improvement.

I've just got an up pipe from ebay USA - think its labelled as XS Sport or something. The quality seems pretty good to me - and it only cost £65 (new) delivered...

Well... I've got a budget and a few things I'm going to do to me new STi (new to me.. ) and could consider headers at this price...

Any more out there fitted these items?

Two minds tho... flat four on ebay (I assume in stock in UK) has these albeit £100 or so ... more £££ but perhaps less hassle ?!" Confused now.. got the same issue with an Ebay FMIC.. LOL....too many shiney things to buy!!!
