Question Check Engine light?

Mornin' All.

Took Scooby on his first long journey with me this weekend - Hampshire/Northampton/Kent/Hampshire.

Coming back down the A3, we'd been travelling about an hour at 3 / 3.5 k revs in 5th when the 'check engine' light came on for no apparent reason! He went into what I assume was 'limp home' mode, staying about 2k revs with no power.

We still had about 50 miles to go, so pulled into the garage to check for anything obvious and give Britannia a call (I wasn't keen on taking the risk with 50 miles to go)... I turned him off and started up again just to see - and no light! We thought we'd take a chance, and I drove him home in the same way, 3/3.5k in 5th to try and recreate the problem - but nothing?

Drove him to work this morning, again - no issues?

53,000 miles, full tank of Optimax... serviced 800 miles ago - any ideas?

Thanks,

Jen
