BOV causes loss of revs
I've had a Blitz Super Sound BOV fitted today and after a couple of minutes driving i noticed that as soon as the car was out of gear the revs dropped to zero then bounced back up again. When stationary it will either bounce back from zero to idle or it'll just conk out.
Any ideas of what to check for?
Cheers,
Kel

sounds like the dump valve needs adjusting, the vacume is opening the dump valve when the car is idling. sould be a way of tightening the spring in the valve

I had a blitz supersound fitted to my MY00 had the same problems this problem is due to the boost pressure not being recirculated this dump valve was no good for my car and hence it is still sat in its box on the shelf at the back of the garage. I also tried other Vent to atmosphere valves all of them gave similar probs when driving i had to fit an aftermarket recirc type.

I have a Blitz SSDV fitted with an FMIC and have no problems - Its probably a matter of adjusting the spring tension at idle as it sounds like how it is currently set the vacuum at idle is 'overpowering' the spring pressure thus opening the DV

takes me back to the days of RS turbos coming in cos they wouldn't tick over.
Yep sounds like the vacuum line is opening the dump valve on idle causing in rush of air and consequent stalling..
Leave the standard one on there, it's much better at it's job than ANY aftermarket Dump valve.
