Angry CEL Just come on

CEL just come on, on my wifes 2001 Sport

Bog standard motor, just filled with petrol last night.

Seems to run fine

Is it ok to use taking it easy, or do I have to let the wife use my St/b?

I have a sport, just had a new clutch put in it and after about 10miles down the road CEL came on then went off then came back on. But the car seems to be running fine. Checked oil, water, brake fluid etc and there all fine. could it possibly just be a dodgy sender unit?

the code should be stored so that you can read it later. Your local dealership will be able to read it for you, or there's a process you can follow involving connecting up a sequence of plugs under the dash. The website is something like 'saxonfields' you could google that and see what comes up. This may be classics only though, not sure.

i had a CEL last year, and when I phoned the dealer they advised that it was probaby a dirty bit of fuel, and said don't worry Suffice to say that I looked around the bay for signs of damage etc, everything looked fine, i still had oil pressure, temp was fine etc.

I would get it checked though, it's probably something very simple.

I agree

Dealer thought it likely to be dirty fuel

However, when Im passing the dealer ill go in and get the code pulled
