I didn't think reliability of the (pre MY99) Subaru hot wire MAF was an issue?

No more than I guess any hot wire type - Q is, is there any advantage to going to the Z32 over a '97 90mm scooby item as there is unlikely to be any benefit (AFAIK) in increased flow capability - as there is over the 70mm scoob job - so was just wondering if they're any more hardy...

Wouldn't you need to remap the ecu in any case to rescale the MAF signal for air flow?

Some one work out what air flow a 70 mm and 90 mm maf pipe can flow please!
I max my MAF ( my94) out and would need a bigger one ideally...! Been told the Nissan 300zx one works after a remap, is this the same MAF mentioned above?

z32 MAF would require a remap, but I wouldn't bother replacing ths STI MAF just for the sake of it. Make sure it's not rattling about, make sure it's staying clean.

Replacing a 94 MAF with a Z32 item is pretty straight forward, it's the same size and shape, you just need to swap the connector or get the Nissan Harness to match.

I have one in my garage waiting for me to fit it & AndyF to remap it, Reason for fitting is that during mapping AndyF said that the Maf was maxed out & could not flow enough ..
