Yup its a warning that you have exceeded a set parameter maximum in the ecu.

What car/mods etc

Sorry to butt in here, but I have been getting the same problem on and off since early January. Car was first taken into a well known specialist as the light did come on and stay on - it apparently showed mis-firing on three cylinders. The spark plugs were proven to be incorrectly gapped after a recent service and were corrected.

This seemed to cure the problem but it then started to do it on and off (only flashing though). I later had the car modified by TSL - Sports Cat DP, decat up-pipe & centres, uprated back box, uprated fuel pump, TEK3 (with map switching by Richard Bulmer), Turbosmart DV, Green panel filter (car is a UK 2002 WRX, now with 39K on the clock).

The car has recently given a CEL for the cam sensor (which I had replaced) but still flashes - about once or twice a month - each time I ease off and it stops after approx 30 seconds - I now have delta dash and can confirm no fault codes are ever logged when this happens?

Any ideas? Sort of lossing a little confidence in the car although it never seems to run badly?

Cheers

Martin

Thanks for replying Bob, funnily enough its coming to see you soon for a remap!!

All its got is a complete aftermarket exhaust system with sports cat, on an MY02 WRX.

I've just got a knocklink to fit and change the tee'in of the boost gauge as branko said it shouldn't come off the dump valve pipe?

Weather was damp and cool, as compared to last few days?

cheers
James

When mine behaved that way it was a bad spark plug cable. Dealer replaced the cables and all was well again.
