Default Piston Rings

Is it neccasary to run in an engine when piston rings have been changed
and should the oil be changed afterwards.

This is just for a ring change not a rebore.

I would certainly think so to make sure the rings bed in and create a good seal even if it hasnt has a rebore.

definitely need run in properly otherwise they'll never seal as much as they should.
