I've not got an Sti RA yet but i plan on getting one soon so i've been doing a bit of home work, pretty sure it sits on the top of the inlet manifold behind the throttle body, it has a metal pipe feeding it from the right hand side and a small plug (think it's white) on the left hand side as you look in from the front of the car. Sorry i dont have any pics but if you look in this months jap performance mag there's a feature on the v2 sti ra and it can be seen in one of the pics.
As for when it works the most popular opinion seems to be that it only gives a short burst on start up.

Cheers,
I've looked at JP mag and can see it in the pics, cannot see it on mine though
Mine is a MY99 though so could it be somewhere else?
Unless the V-LTD's don't have this?
Just curious really!
Cheers,
R.

Didn't realise it was a newer one, Had a chat with Andy F regarding this and he told me that it had something to do with homoligation stuff because it had the facility to run a 5th injector it was easier to put water injection in? Sounds pretty feasible to me. This was the base car for rally cars back then but they move onto the 2 door shells sometime later so subsequent models prob didn't need it.Kenny

I've only seen them on the early cars (ver 1 & 2). It's a homologation thing for the rally cars of that time as was said above. Post 1996, WRC rules came in allowing much more freedom to change the base car (like installing 4WD and a turbo to a peugeot 206 Etc). Before that it was group A, which meant that the road car had to have what the rally cars had. That's why there is some really special editions.
