Question copper, platinum or iridium spark plugs

BKR7E, PFR7B or BKR7EIX's, pro's and con's? i was under the impression that copper plugs give a more intense spark than the other two, but don't last anywhere near as long, and seeing as im after performance over longevity, would coppers be best for my 5k a year mileage?

bearing in mind copper plugs are under 3 quid each too

Theoretically coppers will give you the best performance/spark but they may cause you problems as they don't last at extreme conditions (boost-temps) for long time.
Platinums are a good choice but as iridiums last more and have better conductivity I'd bet on them (I already have the STI labeled BKR7EIX in my PPP'd WRX MY03).
STI also uses them as uprated plugs currently replacing the PFR7B they used in the past.

Iridiums are not good, they certainly don't last and frequently fail, least thats my experience (and I would have lost my shirt if I was a betting man). Platinums are the best compromise, PFR7B's changed every 10k on "normal" mods, I have to change mine every 5k as they get very tired beyond that.

STi's are not "that" highly tuned relatively.

Agree with Bob, I have found the Iriduims to have a very short life.

Hang on, you two agree?

Is 10k the "real world" Life span?

Whats all this 40k crap that gets banded about?

You makes me worry now!
What you mean short life 10K, 20K, 40K or what?
I had the factory platinums with no problem for 35K km and changed to iridiums recently although my car is PPP'd the last 25K km.

Yes.

I didn't get 3k out the iridiums at 1.8 bar before they caused a misfire, they were going off long before that !

they were crap, the electrode was too fat on them to get the gap spot on (.5mm), misfired worse than before, so ditched them
