I use an SAFC II for about 1 1/2 year in my car (97 WRX) with excelent results. Tuned on dyno for safety.

How easy are they to install and what advantages do you get from having them?

Kev

It modifies the MAF signal coming from the airflow sensor thereby fooling the ecu into thinking it is in a different load zone to where it really is. This has the ability to lean fuelling/advance the ignition or richen fuelling/retard the ignition. It's a pretty crude way to tune a car in a limited fashion as it's a piggy-back controller.

You'd be much better off getting an ecu remap, Power FC are good pre-MY01 or ecutek post MY01, which can tailor boost ignition and fuelling to suit your car/current mods precisely.

Word has it AndyF's good at this sort of thing if you're up north and Bob Rawle if you're down saaf
