Default Is this boost safe??

Hi guys, I picked up my new 01 y reg wrx yesterday and it has 3 defi gauges in a carbon fibre pod which look very cool!! But it has this controller thing under the ashtray with like play pause etc etc, but I have no clue to what this does?? Can i get a manual/instructions from anywhere??

Anyway back to my main point aka the title, my car has had a td05 turbo fitted, been mapped etc, have a de-cat and firestorm exhaust etc. One of the maps which has been set up I was told to put accelerator right to floor and press rear heated screen button or something to switch between maps?? Apparantly something to do with the insurance not knowing or something?? But one of the maps is set to 1.5 bar, is this safe, its all been set up and mapped professionally etc just did'nt want to drive around on it set that high if its likely to do damage. The car has had numerous bits of work done to it all in all it adds up to £7000 of work. Hopefully someone will put my mind at rest!!

Just to add the turbo, ecu, mapping etc was done at scooby sport

If it has been mapped properly for 1.5 bar then all should be fine.
However, you do need to find out what fuel that was setup for. Most probably Optimax but could be Optimax + Octane booster.
