Default Trouble starting

I have a uk spec 1994 impreza turbo which takes ages to start when its cold, does anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be (idle control valve maybe?) I have to turn the engine over for about 20 - 30 seconds before it even tries to start although once its warm its starts straight away. Also in 2nd and 3rd gears especially it hessitates when I get to about 5000 revs but if i keep the throttle open it gets past it and pulls like a train again, does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Thanks for any help

Check your spark plug, fuel filter, dirty injector, coil, (could be number of things). But usually got do with spark and fuel if everything been working fine
