Default blown engine?? :(

Right to cut a long story short, my STi 4 is a bit poorly.

overtook a couple of cars on way home tonight and knocklink lights up like a christmas tree. 2 mins later i arrive home and there is some grey smoke coming out of the exhaust, car is VERY lumpy on idle and will stall easily on pulling away, also takes a while to turn over.

taking it to garage tommorow, but any thoughts on what it could be?

You haven't split or blown a turbo hose have you? On the other hand, you could have holed a piston!

Just speaking to a chap, and he said if a piston had gone it should loose compression all the way through. well the car is boosting fine, still pulls like a train etc, no smoke. only smokes on startup with very lump idle, and definate smell of oil.

Guess wont know for sure until head is stripped off. New owner was suppossed to be picking her up weds, engine was running beautifully when he test drove it on sunday.
