Default Replacing fuel pump

Hi guys,im in the middle of changing my fuel pump ive removed the back seat but couldnt remember which cover to remove so i removed both i cant find the old pump anywhere can anyone give me a step by step guide preferably with pics so i can complete the job before it gets dark (or rains)

all help very much appreciated

ps car is an MY98 type R if that assists

id imagine its deep down at the bottom of the tank attatched to the bottom or the fuel level sensor as a guess?

Don't quote me, but i'm pretty sure its under the plate behind the drivers seat, there should be hoses coming through the plate.....

sounds like a nightmare job,dont suppose anyone can scan in the walkthrough guide in issue 2 of scooby mag can they LOL

worth a go
someone must have an idiots guide to doing a fuel pump im sure most of the users on here have done it

If you do a search there are loads of walkthroughs

I found it easier to remove the back seat in my car when trying to get to the pump. You might have a fold down rear seat not sure which spec you have.

Anyway if your looking into the boot ie the car is in front of you. There is a dome shaped thing on the right with 4 screws in it. Remove this

Underneath is a metal thing with 3 pipes coming out of it. Take off the 3 pipes, remove the white plug and unscrew the 8mm bolts. The whole pump and float unit will lift out. (you migh need to turn it a little to get it out)

You will see the pump attached to the float etc.

Cheers all for your help,pump is now done all bar the wiring bit which i need to buy some connectors for.On the old unit there was a resistor type thing is this needed on the new pump or can i remove and bin it?

Right ive decided to stop before i throw it through the window,i'll try again tomorrow
