Radiator remove/replace MY98
Hi guys
I think someone has put a screwdriver through my radiator!
Anyway, I have a new one and before I embark on removing and fitting the new one, just wonder if anyone can give me some tips - any bolts below etc etc.
Cheers
John

Hi there,
No there are no bolt below holding the rad in, just the 2 brackets at the top securing it to the slam panel.
Just the bottom radiator hose to undo below and the ones at the top from the expansion tank, header tank and the top hose to engine.
You will have to swap rad fan/s onto new one and the pipe that runs along the top of the rad.
One of the easiest things to change.
Search on here though about refilling the cooling system, as quite prone to air locks.

The only fittings at the bottom are rubber tophat things that sit in holes on the bottom metal bit of the front panel / cross member and lugs on the bottom of the rad drop in, no bolts or screws involved.

The fan shroud has bolts that it sits on at the bottom of the rad. These will need loosening before pulling the shroud up and away, then you can remove them at your leisure when the radiator is out. Or, like me, shear them off cos they're rusted to **** and buy shiny new ones for the new rad.

The only connections left to udo now are the electrical feeds to the fans.
Are these connectors just push fit or are they clipped together? I'll stop trying to pull them apart if I know they are secured by a clip!!

Found them! For those interested, you have to lift a little tab on the electrical connectors to release the plug and seperate it - same on both.
