Air idle valve on a 95 WRX
Can anyone tell me if the air idle valve on my car was faulty,
How it would effect my car when actually driving ?
I know it would effect the car when standing still, thats why I cleaned it recently and it seems okay, but I was wandering, if when you press the accelerator, it remained slightly open or the message to my ECU was wrong how would my car feel to drive?
My car kangeroos a bit in first and second gear and I'm trying to rule a few things out !!!!!!!!
Also when I hit around 120 mph (on track) my knocklink starts lighting up from nothing, so I am convinced something is wrong somewhere?
I already have new:
spark plugs
coil packs
uprated fuel pump
fuel filter
Car remapped a few months ago with a gems.
So why am I kangerooing only in first and second but 3/4/5 seem fine.

Sounds slightly lean in the areas of the map in 1/2 it is going, load is different in 3/4/5, so perhaps using different areas of the map or you are not mimicking he same revs / load in those gears.
I'd point the finger at either engine changes since remap or the map was not as good as it could be in the first place.
