Default K & N panel filter - Turbo noise??

Hi All,

I fitted a K & N panel filter to my buge eye today and have noticed the turbo noise has increased as well as a slight amount of dump noise (very faint)

Is this normal? The airbox lid is all on properly and it was so simple to fit there was no way i could get it wrong!! (2 clips, lift lid and remove old, slide in new one, 2 clips back down)

Is it because the OEM filter is thicker and reduces more air getting through?

Thanks
Iain

Thanks Morpheous...

I did look at removing the resonator as well. Seems like quite a bit of work though!

Car does seem to rev a lot free'er <(if that is a word!!) now so quite chuffed.

How long did it take you to remove the resonator?

I can't believe the conicidence (sp?) of this post..!

I fitted a green filter to my 05 WRX last week and noticed straight away the turbo noise had increased, however only today I also noticed what I thought was a slight 'dump' noise but dismissed it as my imagination (or the curry I had last night..!). Now having read this post I must have been boost dump.

It's just I thought that with a resc. dump valve you didn't hear anything..?

Jason

PS morpheous I should have the IC ready by next week if you're still interested..? (sorry for the delay)
