Knackered brand new MAF?
After getting my MY99 remapped before Christmas Pat said the MAF was unreading a touch, not massively but a little. So only just got round to buying one from Subaru dealership £85ish.
Fitted it but got a CEL, code 23 MAF!? Did battery ECU reset didn't clear it. Put the old one back in, still same fault code, did a proper reset, fault cleared.
Tried the new one back in with full reset, Fault code still there?
Old one back , reset, cleared!
So back to Holdcrofts in the morning to get it swapped, anyone anticpate them being awkward? ANyone else had a new one that was busted...?
cheers

And just how was this tested??
You've been sold a ScoobyNet Myth ...... blame the MAF for everything seems to be most peoples response to everything from why the windows steam up to why the towbar worked loose!!
I would say your MAF is totally fine ........ be interesting when the dealer thinks you are returning 'your' faulty one and claiming its theirs!!

Car now picks up much quicker than before, reckon it's upped the torque by 25lb/ft 8D
Take it Pete you reckon that MAFs get a lot of bad press? Have got a Knocklink fitted but this swap was for peace of mind more than anything else.
Fitting Universal Lambda next week, as know that has never been changed.
And planning on getting it remapped again after fitting STI I/C and ported headers.
cheers
