Downpipe de-cat make much difference?
My local dealers mentioned that the bug eye, when on the rollers, shows hardly any difference in power when it has the downpipe cat fitted or removed. Can this be right?

the turbo spools up quicker, and you'll get a louder turbo whistle, definately worth doing, as it does make a difference, I put the car on a rolling road early last year before I had the decat downpipe and got 218BHP, and later with it on and got 253bhp

Was this on the same RR and similar conditions..?Jason
If it only makes 7 bhp difference doesn't seem worth it.
Anyway, reason for asking in the first place is that I do have a de-cat downpipe and centre section. Drives great. I had problems a while ago and had a new short motor fitted and now I am having more problems, could be turbo seals letting in oil and smoking in trafic jams, so wondered if the back pressure is an issue with the d/p cat and having the cat taken off may have been a mistake.
As a matter of interest, with standard Bug Eye ECU what bhp am I likely to be seeing with the d/p and centre decat and S/S back box?
