Default What Resistor inplace of standard solenoid to keep off CEL?

Hi All,

Does anybody know what rersistor to use to keep the CEL light off when using a boost controller, to allow the standard solenoid to be removed?

Thanks in advance.

I measured the resistance of the standard solenoid and it was something like 13 ohms very roughly from memory, maybe it was 30, but in that order. However, you would need a high volume/heat/price resistor to sit there with that low a resistance as the current at 13V/13 ohms would be 1A. I used between 1 and 10K without troubles on MY00 UK spec. There is a 10K sitting in my loom now and it has been there for ages working well.
