Default Knocklink loom..?

What is the wiring that comprises the loom for a knocklink..? (??? power - & +, and the two that go to the knock sensor ie x4..?).

Basically I've got sensor and bosch connector but BRD will only sell me the display, not the loom, unless I buy the complete kit..! So I'm looking at making my own loom.

I'm a bit pissed off at the moment as I'm having remap with them next month.

got mine sitting in front of me waiting for me to fit it at the weekend

Red = +12V
2 x Black = Earth
brown/black = Knock sensor

On the loom I have, the cable to the knock sensor is shielded with one of the earths which also connects directly to the knock sensor.

Cheers

Dan

Hi Bob,

Basically I've got sensor and connector, just need a new display and loom. I've spoken to Branko and he can sell me the display without the loom or the complete kit (which I don't obviously need).

I was therefore thinking of making up a new loom.

Thanks,

Jason

AFAIK, the Knocklink's are supplied with the display AND loom. The loom itself is just a connector at one end and wires at the other.

Like here

You can then buy the connector kit and sensor seperately.

What bits are you missing?

You could buy a 4 pin connector from any motor factors and just make your own up from there. It's nothing special. http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.c...page/home.html have loads of different block connectors.

Thanks everyone.

Bob, if you read this again can you just confirm that my car (05wrx) will be ok running a full decat for a few days prior to you mapping it..?

Someone (a specialist..?) told me it needs to be mapped at same time as decat or the engine is DOOMED to blow..!

Thanks,
Jason

"doomed to blow"
Hardly Iwould think as long as you drive with some circumspection ie limit your enthusiasm, it will overboost I suspect so best not to go there, fueling off boost will take care of itself and these cars are mapped so rich as std then even 0.5/0.75 bar would probably still be ok.

Are you sure he appreciated you wanted the display and loom which do come togther ... I'll check.

Another 'scare' story no doubt (I thought as much..!).

I'll phone Branko today and order display (and try not to break this one..!). I was on mobile with a cr@p reception when I spoke to him last, so maybe there was a bit of confusion about what I needed..? No problem.

Cheers Bob,

See you soon, can't wait (just need to find the STi IC I want).
